ICELANDIC MARTINI

Salt, when used in moderation, makes everything more delicious, including your cocktails. When adding salt in any form to a drink, the intention is not to make the drink salty. Salt is simply there to amplify the flavors of the cocktail. 

MARTINI:

  • 1.5oz Ólafsson Gin (or other light botanical gin)
  • 2/3 oz Dry Vermouth
  • 2 drops Saltverk Flaky Sea Salt saline solution
  • Lemon twist or olives (for garnish)

SALINE SOLUTION:

  • 3 1/2 tsp. Saltverk Flaky Sea Salt
  • 1/3 cup water

Make a 20% saline solution by dissolving the salt in the water, stirring until dissolved.  Put solution in a dropper bottle for ease of use.

Stir all ingredients in a mixer glass with ice.  Pour into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist or olives.
